Force Network
Carey supported the good work of Force Network which focuses on raising awareness and funds for charitable organizations that benefit the military and first responders.

In August 2015, Carey began his junior year at Valley Forge Military Academy. He wanted to attend West Point and felt Valley Forge gave him the best chance to achieve his dream. In Carey’s honor we want to help others who have the same dream of joining a Service Academy. We are working with Valley Forge to create an award and scholarship named the “Lecamp Good Soldier Award.” Next fall an award and scholarship will be granted to a rising Senior cadet who has an interest in joining the military and who demonstrates an exceptional degree of respect, hard work and commitment to his Company.

Gift of Life-Organ Donation
Carey’s organ donations had a profound impact on many families. They were managed by Gift of Life an Organ Procurement Organization (“OPO”) which covers donations in the Philadelphia area. Over 100 medical professionals were involved in the process and we thank each one for making Carey’s gifts possible.
Life Center Northwest
Bryce has volunteered his local Organ Procurement Organization at Life Center Northwest near Bellevue, WA where he is currently living.
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Carey suffered from depression for many years and on May 24, 2016 in a moment of despair, he took his own life. He made a fatal mistake but we are certain that if he had made it through this difficult period he would be happy to be with us today.
Depression is an illness with few effective treatment options for many sufferers, none of which Carey felt were right for him. This illness can be fatal and is a major cause of addiction and suicide among teens as well as adults. We support the good work of AFSP and other organizations which increase awareness of the risks associated with depression.
Out of the Darkness Walks
Carey’s friend from Greenwich High School, Amanda Blieberg, and the mother of Carey’s friend from Valley Forge, Amanda Mastriano have participated in walks for Out of the Darkness in his name. These walks are sponsored by AFSP.org. Thank you Amandas for your commitment to this important work and we hope that lives will be saved.
Amanda Mastriano
For the 5th year in a row, Amanda Mastriano will be joining with hundreds of people to walk over 18 miles through the night in the Out of the Darkness Overnight to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
She says the following on her donation page:
“In May of 2016 the world lost an angel. Carey Brandon Lecamp lost his battle with depression and died by way of suicide. He was merely a child. A beautiful soul loved by so many. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy and was a good friend of my sons. I walk every year for Carey. His drive to help others and accomplishments during his short time here are what drive me every single year. I want to continue Carey’s goodwill by helping those who silently suffer. My walk is Dedicated to the life and memory of Carey Brandon Lecamp.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 40,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP’s mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.”
Our family thanks you so much Amanda for continuing to honor Carey’s memory via this important cause.
